TORONTO – The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced Friday that Cameron Eke of the Collingwood Blues (OJHL) has been named the recipient of its Top Defenceman Award for 2024-25.

Eke earned the honour over fellow Top Defenceman finalists Naaman Hofer, Dauphin Kings (MJHL); Nathan Maloney, Calgary Canucks (AJHL); Adam Shillinglaw, Hearst Lumberjacks (NOJHL) and Étienne-Mathieu Tremblay, Condors du Cégep Beauce-Appalaches (LHJAAAQ), following a voting process completed by the CJHL’s nine-member leagues, for their respective efforts during the course of the regular season.

Hailing from St. Catharines, Ont., Eke sports a championship-filled resume, winning back-to-back OJHL titles in 2023 and ’24 and the Centennial Cup, presented by Tim Hortons, last season.

The 20-year-old led all OJHL blueliners in offensive production with 57 points in 49 outings, on 14 goals and 43 assists.

For his efforts, he was previously named the OJHL’s Defenceman of the Year.

An NCAA Division I commit to Niagara University (Atlantic Hockey America), Eke skated on defence with Team Canada East in the previous two Junior A World Challenge events in Truro, N.S., and Camrose, Alta.
