TORONTO – The names of 101 Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) alumni saw them compete in the 10-team Southern Professional Hockey League during the 2025-26 season.
This included 12 who were members of the SPHL President’s Cup champion Evansville Thunderbolts, who skated to their second straight league title.
Statistically a number of CJHL alumnus had impressive campaigns on the ice throughout the season.
Peoria Rivermen netminder Nicholas Latinovich (Georgetown Raiders/Orangeville Flyers, OJHL) sat second overall in goals-against average at 1.98, while Evansville stopper Kristian Stead (Nipawin Hawks, SJHL) was third-best with a GAA of 2.11.
Latinovich also sported a crisp .930 save percentage, with Stead having a .923 save mark.
Offensively, Leif Mattson of the Quad City Storm (Drumheller Dragons, AJHL) was second in SPHL scoring on 60 points in 58 outings, Travis Broughman of the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs (Carleton Place Canadians, CCHL) was also an over point-per-game performer on 54 in 51 games played.
You also had Birmingham Bulls forward Drake Glover (Weyburn Red Wings, SJHL) lead the SPHL in power play tallies with 15 and Peoria’s Michael McChesney (Estevan Bruins, SJHL) pace the pack with his 11 game-winning markers.
