TORONTO – The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced Monday that the Greater Sudbury Cubs (NOJHL) still sit No. 1 in its latest Top 20 Rankings – Fuelled by Gatorade.
Having reeled off 17 consecutive victories, Greater Sudbury holds down top spot in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League standings with a record of 31-2-1-1.
Remaining No. 2 in the national listings, which are compiled by an independent scouting service, is the Melfort Mustangs (SJHL).
The Mustangs remain the top point-getters in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey with 58, in sporting a 29-5-0-0 mark.
Winners of seven straight contests, the Leamington Flyers (OJHL) maintain their hold on the No. 3 slot in the rankings.
They’ve gone 35-2-1-1 and are in first place in the Ontario Junior Hockey League table.
Right behind them at No. 4, is another OJHL squad, the Trenton Golden Hawks.
A mere one point behind Leamington, Trenton has gone 32-5-2-0 so far this season.
Coming in at No. 5 this week are the Summerside Western Capitals (MHL).
Boasting the best winning percentage in the Maritime Hockey League at .819, Summerside has won seven in succession, while going 28-5-2-1 overall.
