TORONTO – The list of Canadian Junior Hockey League alumni continuing their playing careers across Europe during the 2024-25 season was an extensive one.
Of those who played a minimum of five CJHL contests in their junior careers, 447 of them competed with clubs overseas during the most recent campaign.
Each of the nine leagues that comprise the CJHL boasted 10-plus of their past players skating in Europe in 2024-25, while eight of them had 25, or more, alums on squads across the Atlantic.
That brings the contingent of CJHL alumni who played at higher levels over the past season to 2,611, ranging from the National Hockey League down through the Canadian Hockey League.
“The numbers show each of our members leagues continue to produce talent on a yearly basis in having them advance to the next level,” said CJHL President Andy Harkness.
“We commend our clubs, along with the commitment of our commissioners and their respective staffs within the nine CJHL leagues, for their dedication in aiding to this solid alumni list,” added Harkness.
