CALGARY, Alta. – National Hockey League Central Scouting released Monday its final rankings for the 2018 NHL Draft this June in Dallas, Texas and 22 players from Canadian Junior Hockey League clubs earned spots on the list. This group features 20 CJHL skaters along with two goaltenders.
Topping the CJHL contingent among North American skaters is Okotoks Oilers (AJHL) defenceman Jacob Bernard-Docker, who was slotted 33rd overall.
He was followed by centre Jack McBain of the Toronto Jr. Canadiens (OJHL) at No. 35.
Others in the Top 100 include a trio of blueliners in Jonathon Tychonick of the Penticton Vees (BCHL), Stanislav Demin of the Wenatchee Wild (BCHL) and Seth Barton of the Trail Smoke Eaters (BCHL) who were ranked 36th, 40th and 94th respectively.
Goaltender Matt Thiessen of the Steinbach Pistons (MJHL) is the top rated CJHL netminder as he jumped seven places from the mid-term rankings moving all the way up to fourth among goaltenders in North America.
