TORONTO – As the lone remaining unbeaten club in the 118-team Canadian Junior Hockey League, the Rockland Nationals (CCHL) maintain their hold at No. 1 in the latest CJHL Top 20 Rankings – Fuelled by Gatorade, announced Monday.
Topping the Central Canada Hockey League table with a 9-0-0-0 mark, Rockland has provided some stingy defence so far this season, having only allowed a CCHL-low 14 goals-against.
Despite suffering their initial setback last week, in an overtime setback, the Summerside Western Capitals (MHL) stay No. 2 in the listings, which are compiled by an independent scouting service.
Summerside sports a .944 winning percentage and an 8-0-1-0 mark in the Maritime Hockey League.
Coming in at No. 3 in the CJHL this week are the Selkirk Steelers (MJHL).
As the front-runners in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, Selkirk boasts 10 victories in 11 games played, against just one setback.
Sitting at No. 4 nationally is a second MHL side, the Edmundston Blizzard.
Simon Oliver’s squad has begun their season by going 10-1-0-0.
Wrapping up the Top 5 are the Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL).
At 11-2-0-0, the Golden Hawks pace the 24-team Ontario Junior Hockey League in winning percentage at .846, while notching a OJHL-best 72 goals to date.
