Nine CJHLers named to updated NHL Central Scouting Player’s to Watch List

CALGARY, Alta. National Hockey League Central Scouting released Friday afternoon an updated version of its Players to Watch List as a prelude to the 2021 NHL Draft.

Among those tabbed are nine players from Canadian Junior Hockey League clubs.

Topping the CJHL contingent is Brooks Bandits (AJHL) defenceman Corson Ceulemens, who earned am ‘A’ rating, as a potential first round selection.

Meanwhile Nick DeGrazia of the Rayside-Balfour Canadians (NOJHL) earned a ‘B’ rating, making his a possible second or third round choice.

The updated Players to Watch List is based on in-person viewings, video scouting and a comprehensive video scouting review of 2021 NHL Draft Prospects from games that were played late in the 2019-20 season and other unique situations related to the COVID-19 virus.

Players picking up a ‘C’ rating indicates them as a 4th/5th/6th round draft candidate.

Meanwhile, last season’s CJHL Top Forward award recipient Kent Johnson earned an ‘A’ rating.

The former Trail Smoke Eaters (BCHL) standout is current in his freshman year at the University of Michigan.

Among other past CJHL standouts on the list is Luke Mylymok, a freshman at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

He spent the 2019-20 campaign with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks (BCHL) and also played previously with the Notre Dame Hounds (SJHL).
