MONTREAL — The Montreal Phoenix family stands firmly behind Tyler Goyer, a former Phoenix player who was recently diagnosed with lymphoma.
Tyler is on the road to recovery and will soon complete his final chemotherapy treatment.
His family, friends, teammates and entire community are now coming together to support him and contribute to the fight against blood cancers.
On October 25, 2026, the Goyer family, under the Poirier/Goyer team banner, will take part in “Light the Night Montreal” to join forces and raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.
Every donation, big or small, helps support the fight against leukemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers.

“We are a family, and we want to help one of our former players,” said Manni Leo, general manager of the Phoenix. “If we can give him an extra boost of energy, all the better.”
The organization also plans to hold an evening event in support of Tyler Goyer over the coming weeks.
“I remember Tyler as someone who is constantly fighting. He has the heart of a lion, and I am convinced he will overcome this,” added Leo.
The forward wore the Phoenix colours during the 2022-2023 season, appearing in 44 games.
Le Phoenix Also Supports Women Fighting Cancer
This Sunday, October 11, starting at 1 p.m., the Montreal Phoenix will pay tribute to all women who are currently fighting cancer or who have battled the disease.
Every woman attending the arena for the game against CF de Longueuil will receive a rose.
It is worth noting that throughout the month of October, the Phoenix practices in pink jerseys and wears a pink ribbon on its helmets.
A wonderful gesture from the organization, which is doing its part in the fight against cancer and showing its support for those affected by the disease.
