Calgary Canucks 3, Rockland Nationals 2 (OT)
- Hayden Fechner (Edmonton, AB) scored at 10:57 of overtime, sending Calgary to Sunday’s championship game. He also added an assist.
- Gavin Schmidt (Okotoks, AB) had Calgary’s other goals.
- Lukas Renaud (Naples, FL) turned aside 42 of the 44 shots he faced for the Canucks.
- Gabriel Le Houillier (Lorraine, QC) scored both goals for Rockland.
- Anthony Hall (Sherbrooke, QC) chipped in with two assists.
Melfort Mustangs 4 , Trenton Golden Hawks 3
- Zac Somers (Melfort, SK) scored the game-winner with 6:54 left, sending Melfort to the championship game. He also added an assist.
- Logan Belton (Winnipeg, MB) added two assists for the Mustangs,
- Cooper Matthews (Belleville, ON), Devin Mauro (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) and Corbin Roach (Belleville, ON) replied for Trenton.

“We’re used to being down, honestly every game in playoffs we were pretty much down, but we’re always confident we can get the win, and we did tonight. Me and [Gavin] Schmidt have been playing together for a while and we understand what we do together and it worked out today. [Matthew Paszkiewicz] is another great guy on our line, he does the gritty work that Schmidt doesn’t always do, so it’s good to have him. This tournament created a lot of great memories for us, so there’s nothing to hang our heads about. This tournament was extremely successful for us. At the end of the day, Calgary was in this spot last year, they lost in the semifinals, they’re playing in the final tomorrow and we’ll be in the final next year.”

“We came out and played the way we wanted to in the first period. The second period was a bad period and not the way we play. The biggest thing is we managed to flip the switch in the intermission, and the third period was more like the way we play and it was a character win. We have unfinished business that’s for sure, the boys are driven and excited. You have two great fan bases and we’ll be ready to go.”

“It stings, it hurts. We’ve come so far this year and I’m super proud of this group; from the players and staff to ownership and our fans. It’s tough to put into words right now, but as far as the game, we played a really resilient Melfort team that’s had a lot of success this year and they’re really well coached. It was a chess match today – there wasn’t a lot of five-on-five opportunities and special teams were huge. When it’s that tight, one offensive execution play can change the game and with eight minutes left, next goal wins. Give [Melfort] credit, they played well.

- Hayden Fechner (Edmonton, AB) a marqué à 10 min 57 s de la prolongation pour propulser Calgary au match de championnat, qui aura lieu dimanche. Il a également obtenu une mention d’aide.
- Gavin Schmidt (Okotoks, AB) a marqué les autres buts de Calgary.
- Lukas Renaud (Naples, FL) a réalisé 42 arrêts sur 44 tirs devant le filet de Calgary.

« Nous avons l’habitude de tirer de l’arrière, dans presque chaque match des séries, c’est ce qui est arrivé, mais nous sommes toujours sûrs de pouvoir l’emporter, et nous l’avons fait ce soir. [Gavin] Schmidt et moi jouons ensemble depuis longtemps, nous nous comprenons bien sur la glace, et ça a bien fonctionné aujourd’hui. [Matthew Paszkiewicz] est un autre bon joueur sur notre trio, il se met le nez dans la circulation, ce que Schmidt ne fait pas toujours, donc c’est bon de l’avoir avec nous. Luc Trevors a fait quelques présences sur notre ligne, il est rapide et il a fait une belle passe à Schmidt pour le but égalisateur. »

« Je suis extrêmement fier. C’était un groupe spécial à diriger. Ce sont de jeunes hommes formidables qui ont un brillant avenir à l’extérieur de la patinoire, ce qui est le plus important. Nous avions dit aux joueurs de jouer avec leur cœur. Nous savions que ce serait un tournoi difficile, nous affrontions un bon club, et tout le monde dans ce vestiaire a joué avec son cœur. Nous sommes passés vraiment près. Ce tournoi nous laissera plusieurs bons souvenirs, nous ne pouvons qu’être fiers de nous. Nous avons eu beaucoup de succès ici. Les Canucks étaient dans la même situation que nous l’an dernier, ils ont perdu en demi-finale. Ils joueront en finale demain, et ce sera notre tour l’an prochain. »

« Nous avons joué comme nous le voulions en première période. En deuxième, nous n’avons pas joué comme nous le devions. Mais ce qui est le plus important, c’est qu’à l’entracte, nous avons eu un déclic, et en troisième période, nous avons joué plus à notre façon. C’était une victoire de caractère. Il nous reste du travail à faire évidemment, les gars sont motivés et fébriles. Les deux équipes sont bien appuyées par leurs partisans. Nous serons prêts. »

« Ça fait mal. Nous sommes passés si près cette année. Je suis super fier de ce groupe. Je suis fier des joueurs, du personnel, de la direction et de nos partisans. C’est difficile d’exprimer ce que je ressens, mais en ce qui concerne le match, nous avons affronté un club de Melfort très résilient qui a eu bien du succès cette année et qui est très bien dirigé. C’était un match d’échecs aujourd’hui. Il y a eu peu d’occasions à 5 contre 5, et les unités spéciales ont été magistrales. Quand c’est aussi serré, un jeu en offensive peut tout changer et avec huit minutes à jouer, le prochain but fera la différence. Il faut donner le crédit aux Mustangs. Ils ont bien joué. »
