CJHL names its 3 Stars of the Month for November – Fuelled by Gatorade

TORONTO – The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced Friday that goaltender Cole Plowman, Steinbach Pistons (MJHL), along with forwards Jace Letourneau, Renfrew Wolves (CCHL) and Spencer Caines, Valley Wildcats (MHL) have been named its CJHL 3 Stars of the Month for November – Fuelled by Gatorade.


1ST STAR: COLE PLOWMAN, (G) STEINBACH PISTONS (MJHL) – Getting the starting nod in six match-ups during the time frame, Plowman won each of them, while only allowing five goals-against.

In all, the 20-year-old from St. Clements, Man., finished the month with a stellar 0.83 average, along with an equally solid .966 save percentage and one shutout.

Helping the MJHL-leading Pistons collect 30 points in 18 appearances overall, so far this season, Plowman boasts a record of 14-2-2 record, while registering a GAA of 1.82 and a save mark of .935.

2ND STAR: JACE LETOURNEAU, (F) RENFREW WOLVES (CCHL) – Hailing from Arnprior, Ont., the 19-year-old Letourneau averaged over two points-per-game for Renfrew.

Scoring 14 times, including back-to-back four-goal performances, he was in on two-thirds of the tallies the Wolves had in November.

The CCHL’s most recent player of the month, tops all skaters in his league in markers with 23, while his 39 overall points, sees him sit just one shy of a share of first. He also represented the CCHL at the recently held Eastern Canada Cup Challenge in Trenton, Ont., as a member of Team Robinson, where he scored once and helped set-up two others.

3RD STAR: SPENCER CAINES, (F) VALLEY WILDCATS (MHL) – Still just 17 during the time frame, Caines piled up 21 points for Valley in 10 games played.

Having turned 18 on December 1, the Pasadena, Newfoundland product, was only held off the game sheet just once, in a period that featured a four-goal effort, two match-ups where he dished out four assists, a five-point night and a pair of game-winning markers.

Presently pacing all first-year MHL skaters, Caines leads the league in rookie scoring, with 34 points, in 24 outings, including 13 tallies.
