CALGARY, Alta. – The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced Wednesday that defenceman James Miller (Penticton Vees, BCHL) along with forwards William Leblanc (Inouk de Granby, LHJAAAQ) and Nick Smith (Soo Thunderbirds, NOJHL) have been named its Gongshow Gear 3 Stars of the Month for November.
1ST STAR: JAMES MILLER, (D) PENTICTON VEES (BCHL) – The 20-year-old Spruce Grove, Alta., product recorded eight goals and 14 assists for 22 points in 13 games last month to help the Vees post a 10-2-1-0 record in November and move near the top of the overall BCHL standings. … Among Miller’s efforts saw him start his run by scoring a goal in five straight games, while also adding four assists over that stretch. … He produced multiple points in eight of his 13 games played and recorded at least a single point in 12 of those contests. … The six-foot-two-inch, 190-pound blueliner currently leads all BCHL defencemen in scoring with 44 points, which also ties him for fifth overall among all league skaters.

2ND STAR: WILLIAM LEBLANC, (F) INOUK DE GRANBY (LHJAAAQ) – Compiling an impressive month offensively for Granby, Leblanc scored 14 times, including four on the power play and once shorthanded, while adding seven assists for a total of 21 points in just a half dozen outings. … He also posted a plus-minus rating of plus-15. A native of Drummondville, Que., Leblanc presently paces the Inouk and the LHJAAAQ in offensive production with a whopping 77 points, including a CJHL-high 44 tallies.

3RD STAR: NICK SMITH, (F) SOO THUNDERBIRDS (NOJHL) – In seven appearances last month for his hometown Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., side, Smith racked up 16 points on six goals and 10 assists. … Five of the outings during the time frame saw the league-leading Thunderbirds’ forward register multi-point affairs. … On the season Smith sits tied for seventh in NOJHL scoring with 38 points on 18 tallies and 20 helpers through 28 contests. … In his career, he is a point-per-game player in the league with 133 in as many match-ups, having picked 64 markers and 69 helpers along the way.
