DRAYTON VALLEY, Alta. — The Drayton Valley Thunder, of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, is accepting applications for a head coach and general manager.
The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of Thunder on-ice hockey operations, including selection and supervision of assistant coaches and scouts, as well as planning and presentation of our Summer Hockey School and prospects camps.
They must possess vast hockey knowledge and coaching experience, preferably at the professional, collegiate, and or major junior levels. Applicants must have their High Performance 1 certification. NHL experience will be preferred.
They must have a clear understanding of the Alberta Junior Hockey League and its feeder systems.
They must be conversant with modern media, social media, and other technological coaching tools. They must demonstrate excellent communication skills, be a proven leader, and understand how to work successfully and to collaborate within a team focused organization.
They must be familiar with NCAA, Canadian University, and collegiate hockey programs and be committed to helping to advance our players the next level.
Finally, and most importantly, they must be keenly interested and dedicated to both the personal and athletic development of our players.
