SAINT–HYACINTHE, Que. – As part of its annual award ceremonies for the 2022-2023 season, at the Sheraton Hotel in Saint-Hyacinthe, the Quebec U18AAA Hockey League inducted current Quebec Junior AAA Junior Hockey League general manager Georges Marien, who is now a member of the circuit’s Hall of Fame.
Over the course of three decades, Marien has been a key component in the evolution of the Midget AAA Hockey League (now the Quebec U18AAA Hockey League). He served as its general manager for more than 20 years and his strategic role has allowed him to contribute to further advancing hockey in all regions of Quebec.
A seasoned executive, he was voted administrator of the year several times at Midget AAA level and one in the QMJHL. His tireless work and commitment have been recognized by Hockey Quebec, which inducted him into its Hall of Fame, and by the Hockey Canada Order of Merit back in 2012.
Actively involved for more than half a century in Quebec minor hockey, Georges Marien has a long track record that includes several achievements and a tireless commitment to the cause of young hockey players. He who made it a point of honor to prioritize the interests of young people and ensure their progression both on and off the ice.
Georges Marien did not hang up his skates or put away his commitment, he who continues to dedicate himself to hockey this time in the role of GM of the QAAAJHL.
