MONTREAL – The Quebec Junior AAA Hockey League announced the schedule for the 2021-2022 season on Wednesday.
The campaign kicks off on Friday September 10 with all the teams on the “Figsby” circuit kicking off a 48-game schedule.
This year, the circuit has regrouped its 12 teams into three divisions, in order to create greater rivalry and thus make the spectacle even more exciting.
The top 10 teams will make the playoffs.
Here is how the clubs will be grouped:
Gatineau, Joliette, Saint-Jérôme, Terrebonne
Longueuil, Montreal-East, Valleyfield, West-Island
Beauce-Appalaches, Côte-du-Sud, Granby, Princeville
The LHJAAAQ champion league team will earn a pass to the Fred Page Cup which will be held May 10-15 in Summerside, Prince Edward Island.
The Centennial Cup will take place in Estevan, Saskatchewan from May 20 to 29.
“We are very happy to be able to formalize the season schedule, which is in itself a message of hope for our players, our fans and all the people involved in our activities,” said Kevin Figsby, commissioner of the LHJAAAQ.
“With the new divisions, there will be more competition and rivalries will be heightened across the circuit,” added Figsby. “We hope our fans will be there to cheer us on. ”
