TORONTO – The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced Thursday that Gabriel Le Houillier of the Rockland Nationals (CCHL) has been named the 2025-26 recipient of its Top Forward Award.
Le Houillier earned the honour over fellow Top Forward finalists, Anthony Gaudet Amherst Ramblers (MHL); Taeo Artichuk Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL); Mathieu Comeau, Hearst Lumberjacks (NOJHL); Niklas Gudmundson, Winkler Flyers (MJHL) and Jalen Bianchet, Whitecourt Wolverines (AJHL) in a voting process completed by each of the CJHL’s nine-member leagues.
The 20-year-old Lorraine, Que., product produced a dominant offensive campaign in the Central Canada Hockey League, finishing the season with an astounding 59 goals and 61 assists for 120 points, in just 52 games.
Le Houillier ended up 17 points ahead of the next closest CCHL scorer and a dozen clear of any player across the entire CJHL.
He was held off the scoresheet only twice all season, and each time responded emphatically with four and three-point performances, before concluding the regular season on a 23-game point streak.
Among his contributions saw him lead, or end up tied, for top spot in multiple categories, including power-play tallies (13), game-winning goals (15), empty-net markers (4), and insurance efforts (8), all while averaging over 19 minutes of ice time per-game. His 15 first-star selections were twice as many as any other player in the CCHL.
Le Houillier went on to capture four major CCHL awards, including Top Scorer, Most Valuable Player, and the Arthur K. Neilsen Scholarship/Ability Award.
Adding to his accomplishments was being named a league star of the week eight times and earning Performer of the Month honours on three occasions.
Le Houillier was also named the CJHL’s First Star of the Month once and earned honorable mention laurels twice.
