Final 2020 NHL Draft rankings sees 15 CJHLers listed

CALGARY, Alta. National Hockey League Central Scouting released their final 2020 draft rankings Wednesday and a total of 15 players from the Canadian Junior Hockey League cracked the list.

Carleton Place Canadians (CCHL) netminder Devon Levi was tabbed eighth among North American goaltenders in the final rankings.

Meanwhile 14 skaters also earned NHLCS honours begging with forward Carter Savoie of the Sherwood Park Crusaders (AJHL), who was slotted 50th among those on teams in North America.

Behind him at No. 57 is Savoie’s Sherwood Park teammate in defenceman Michael Benning.

Another AJHLer is the third-ranked CJHL NHL prospect on the list, at 77, and that is blueliner Ethan Edwards of the Spruce Grove Saints.

Also cracking the Top 100 on the draft list was Matteo Costantini of the Buffalo Jr. Sabes (OJHL) at No. 96.

The 2020 NHL Draft was to have taken place this June in Montreal, with a new date and time for the event still to be announced by the National Hockey League.
