CJHL names its Gongshow Gear 3 Stars for November

CALGARY, Alta. – The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced Thursday that the trio of Josh MacDonald (Summerside Western Capitals/MHL), T.J. Hughes (Brooks Bandits/AJHL) and Frédérick Latendresse, (F) Collège Français de Longueuil (LHJAAAQ) have been named its Gongshow Gear 3 Stars of the Month for November.


1ST STAR: JOSH MACDONALD, (F) SUMMERSIDE WESTERN CAPITALS (MHL) –
The 20-year-old Cornwall, P.E.I., product had an amazing month, etching his name on the game sheet in all 10 outings he appeared in, racking up 27 points in the process on a Maritime Hockey League-leading 15 goals to go along with a dozen assists.

The Western Capitals captain also notched a trio of game-winning tallies and had five multi-goal outings, including a pair of hat tricks as well as one power play and a shorthanded marker.

Having only been held pointless once so far this season, MacDonald has provided 13 multi-point performances to date on the season.

Currently riding a 16-game point streak, he leads all MHL skaters in markers (22) and points (44) through 23 contests.

2ND STAR: T.J. Hughes, (F) Brooks Bandits (AJHL) –
Featuring another impressive monthly run, Hughes piled up 30 points, in 12 contests, pacing CJHL No. 1 ranked Brooks with an AJHL-best 13 tallies and 17 helpers.

The 20-year-old forward, who hails from Hamilton, Ont., provided a trio of game-winning goals and had 10 multi-point outings during the time frame as well.

As an assistant captain with the Bandits, Hughes is currently second in AJHL offensive production with 62 points in just 31 games while leading his league in both goals and man advantage efforts with 32 and 13 respectively.

The Mercyhurst University NCAA Division I commit also sports an incredible 31-game point streak on the go.

3rd STAR: FRÉDÉRICK LATENDRESSE, (F) COLLÈGE FRANÇAIS DE LONGUEUIL (LHJAAAQ) –
Hailing from St-Édouard-de-Napierville, Que., the 20-year-old Latendresse averaged just over three points-per-game to lead all LHJAAAQ skaters in November.

Suiting up seven times during the month, he found the back of the net on 11 occasions and proceeded to help set-up 12 others.

Latendresse also boasted a solid plus-14 rating in that span.

On the season, he currently sits fifth in league scoring with 51 points in total, on 24 tallies and 27 assists and is riding a 14-game point streak.
