CJHL alumni help UMass win NCAA Frozen Four

PITTSBURGH, Penn. –
Led by their captain, Jake Gaudet (Kemptville 73s/CCHL), the University of Massachusetts defeated St. Cloud State 5-0 Saturday evening in the championship game of the NCAA men’s Frozen Four hockey championship in Pittsburgh, Penn.

This marks the first NCAA hockey title for UMass.

A senior with the Minutemen, Gaudet spent four seasons competing in the CCHL & CJHL with Kemptville where he collected 109 points in 153 outings on 44 tallies and 65 assists.

Another UMass standout, senior forward Oliver Chau, was second on the squad in offensive production, playing at close to a point-per-game this season with 27 in 29 games.

Chau skated in the CJHL with the Brooks Brandits (AJHL).
