OTTAWA, Ont. – At their recent Annual General Meeting, the Central Canada Hockey League Board of Governors made several key plans for the upcoming season after a challenging 2020-21.
The league enters its 61st consecutive season, continuing to be the longest running Junior A league in Canada with games slated to begin September 23, 2021. The full schedule details will be announced in the coming weeks.
Regular season play consists of a 55-game fully balanced schedule with the twelve member teams facing each opponent five times and includes the annual Fall Showcase over Thanksgiving weekend at Bell Sensplex.
The top eight teams will advance to the CCHL playoffs which open March 24, 2022 and the Bogart Cup Championship Series concludes May 4, 2022 with the winner advancing to the Eastern Canada Championship May 10-15 in Summerside, P.E.I.
This year’s Centennial Cup, presented by Tim Hortons, is in Estevan, Sask., from May 20-29.
