Welcome to the 2012-2013 CJHL Season

For the CJHL, the message to our players and their families is simple - development, exposure and opportunity!

Last season, over 140 CJHL alumni competed in the NHL, over 450 of our finest student-athletes participated in NCAA Division I hockey, over 250 played in the CHL and over 650 played hockey at Canadian universities and colleges. Despite our impressive record of advancing players to hockey and academic careers, we must continue to enhance the development, exposure and opportunity for our athletes. We do this by never sacrificing the best interest of players and their families and by working with our key partners, such as Hockey Canada, the provincial branches and the great host communities of our premier events - the World Junior A Challenge, the CJHL Prospects Event, and the RBC Cup National Championship.

The 2012-2013 season is sure to be an exciting one for our players and fans. In November, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia will host the 2012 World Junior A Challenge and CJHL Prospects Event. Team Canada West will look to repeat as Gold Medal winners against the world's best Junior A players and Team Canada East will hope to improve upon its Silver Medal finish in 2011 and claim the top spot. The 2012 RBC Cup Champion Penticton Vees will attempt to get back to the RBC Cup in Summerside, Prince Edward Island in May 2013 to defend its national championship and become the first repeat national champions since the Vernon Vipers accomplished the feat in 2009 and 2010. All the while - from training camp to the crowning of our next national champion - our players will continue chasing their dreams of playing at the next level and our leagues, teams and coaches will do everything they can to make that happen!

Good luck to all the players, teams and coaches across our ten leagues and see you all at the rink.

- Kirk Lamb, Chairman, Canadian Junior Hockey League
