OJHL Stars on Display at Hockey Hall of Fame

Tuesday, August 7, 2012

Former OJHL stars Christian Finch and Devin Shore are both currently being featured at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto for their tremendous accomplishments throughout the 2011-12 OJHL season.

Former Stouffville Spirit alternate captain and current member of the Clarkson University Golden Knights, Christian Finch's game worn #13 Spirit sweater is featured prominently within the Hall of Fame's Hometown Hockey 'Year-in-Review' exhibit that recaps the past season at all leagues and levels of the game. As well, a tribute to Finch can be found on a large mural that is part of the same exhibit. Christian's sweater can be seen on display at the Hockey
Hall of Fame for the coming months.

Former Whitby Fury rookie sensation and current member of the University of Maine Black Bears, Devin Shore's game worn Team Canada East sweater is also featured prominently within the Tissot World of Hockey's International 'Year-in-Review' exhibit that recaps the past season's international competition.

Also donated to the Hall of Fame this past season were All-Star jerseys from the two stars who played for Team North and Team East respectively at the inaugural Central Canada Cup All-Star Challenge that was hosted by the CCHL in Smiths Falls, Ontario.

Finch finished the 2011-12 OJHL season as the leading scorer with 67 assists and 104 points. He twice was named the North-West Conference Player-of-the-Month, while being named both a 1st Team All-Star and the OJHL Most Valuable Player following the season. Finch capped off his year by being named CJHL Player-of-the-Year, the second consecutive winner from the OJHL. This season, he joins the Clarkson University Golden Knights program along with many of his OJHL peers.

After a tremendous 2011-12 regular season, Devin Shore led his Whitby Fury to the OJHL Championship Series where they fell in six games to Finch's Spirit. Shore finished as the playoffs third leading scorer with 32 points in 23 games played and would be named both the OJHL Top Prospect, as well as the Rookie-of-the-Year. This season, he joins the University of Maine Black Bears program as one of their top recruits.

Congratulations to both Christian and Devin, and best of luck during their freshman NCAA seasons.
