13 CJHL Players Drafted in 2012 NHL Draft

Thirteen CJHL players were drafted in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft today, surpassing a total of 7 players selected in 2011. The highest selection was Devin Shore of the Whitby Fury (OJHL) drafted by the Dallas Stars in Round Two 61st overall.

  • Jujhar Khaira, Prince George, 3rd Round, 63rd overall, Edmonton Oilers
  • Sean Maguire, Powell River, 4th Round, 113th overall, Pittsburgh Penguins
  • Reece Willcox, Merritt, 5th Round, 141st overall, Philladelphia Flyers
  • Alexander Kerfoot, Coquitlam, 5th Round, 150th overall, New Jersey Devils
  • Wesley Myron, Victoria, 6th Round, 177th overall, Vancouver Canucks

AJHL (4)

  • Colton Parayko, Fort McMurray, 3rd Round, 86th overall, St Louis Blues
  • Rhett Holland, Okotoks, 4th Round, 102nd overall, Phoenix Coyotes
  • Matthew Benning, Spruce Grove, 6th Round, 175th overall, Boston Bruins
  • Matt Tomkins, Sherwood Park, 7th Round, 199th overall, Chicago Blackhawks

OJHL (3)

  • Devin Shore, Whitby, 2nd Round, 61st overall, Dallas Stars
  • James DeHaas, Toronto Lakeshore, 6th Round, 170th overall, Detroit Red Wings
  • Jamie Phillips, Toronto JC, 7th Round, 190th overall, Winnipeg Jets

CCHL (1)

  • Ben Hutton, Nepean, 5th Round, 26th overall, Vancounver Canucks

Kyle Turris of the BCHL's Burnaby Express was selected 3rd overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Phoenix Coyotes and remains the highest ever selection from the CJHL.
