MJHL Coach Appointed to Lead U17 Team West

Saskatchewan Hockey Association and Hockey Manitoba are pleased to announce the coaching staff for Team West for participation in the 2013 World U17 Tournament in Victoriaville/Drummondville, Quebec, December 28th - January 5th, 2013.

Don MacGillivray, 47, will return to the Team West coaching staff for the second consecutive year after being assistant coach with Team West at the World U17 Challenge in Windsor Ontario. Don has been the Head Coach/General Manager of the Winnipeg South Blues in the MJHL for the past 4 seasons. He has been awarded coach of the year in the MJHL in 2011, 2005 and 1995. Previously Don coached the Manitoba Bisons in Canada West CIS for 3 seasons.

Dwayne Gylywoychuk, 39, will make his first appearance with Team West. Dwayne has been the Assistant Coach with the Brandon Wheat Kings in the WHL for the past 9 season. He was the Assistant Coach with the Wheat Kings in their 2010 Memorial Cup Final and in the league final in 2004/05 season. He has been involved with Hockey Manitoba as a group leader and evaluator. Dwayne was also a player with Team West in 1989.

Malcolm Cameron, 43, will also make his first appearance with Team West. Malcolm is currently an Assistant Coach with the Regina Pats in the WHL and will be entering into his second season. He previously has coached in the East Coast Hockey League for 10 years and was the assistant coach with the Acadia University Axemen 1998-2000. He has been involved with the Program of Excellence in the Atlantic Provinces working with U17 Team Atlantic.
