Seven CJHL Players Selected in 2011 NHL Entry Draft

Seven players from the Canadian Junior Hockey League were selected in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft in Minnesota today.

The selections include two players from the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL), two from the British Columbia Junior Hockey League (BCHL) and one from the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) and Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL).

"The CJHL, and its member leagues, are extremely proud of these players," said CJHL Chairman Kirk Lamb. "They represent the best of Junior A and are perfect examples of the development, exposure and opportunity the CJHL provides to its players."

2011 NHL Entry Draft Selections

  • Brennan Serville, OJHL - selected by Winnipeg Jets (3rd round, 78th overall)
  • Joel Lowry, BCHL - selected by LA Kings (5th round, 40th overall)
  • Jason Kasdorf, MJHL - selected by Winnipeg Jets (6th round, 157th overall)
  • Josh Mason, BCHL - selected by Anaheim Ducks (6th round, 160th overall)
  • Sam Jardine, AJHL - selected by Chicago Blackhawks (6th round, 169th overall)
  • Mathew Peca, CCHL - selected by Tampa Bay Lightning (7th round, 201st overall)
  • Scott Wilson, OJHL - selected by Pittsburgh Penquins (7th round, 209th overall)
