Ice Wolves Victorious in Game One

Dan Conacher scored on a goal mouth scramble at 2:07 of overtime to lift the La Ronge Ice Wolves to a 3-2 win over the Oakville Blades on Saturday afternoon, the first game of the RBC Cup in Dauphin, Manitoba.
The Ice Wolves never had a lead until Conacher's sudden victory goal and they were outshot 45-26 in regulation time with Joel Danyluk making 43-stops to keep his team in the game. Those 43-saves included all 17 shots he faced in the third period.
Ben Findlay tied the game at one in the first period when he deflected Mike Alexander's shot.
Dayton Fossum's gritty goal in the second knotted the score at two.
Ryan Murphy and Kyle Blaney scored for Oakville and Daniel Savelli stopped 26-shots in the loss. La Ronge held a 3-0 advantage in shots in overtime.
La Ronge's next game is Sunday night against the defending RBC Cup Champion Vernon Vipers. The Vipers lost in overtime to the Dauphin Kings on Saturday.
