OJHL, Manager Hockey Administration

Reports To: OJHL Commissioner
Status: Full Time

General Responsibilities:

- Coordination of Accounts Receivables and Payables
- Coordination of all OJHL Meetings including, AGM, Board of Governors, Board of Directors,
- Communication Liaison - Email out to all OJHL Governors and Directors Notices of Meetings, (usually twice before each meeting). Issue any general correspondence from the League Executive and Sub Committees
- Assist OJHL Support Staff on various projects to be developed through league Work Plans
- Assist with the execution of all OJHL Events, including the OJHL Governors Showcase, Team Canada East OJHL Evaluation Camp, OJHL Central Canada Cup Teams
- Communications with OHA relating to league operations;
- Assist Deputy Director with coordination of all player transactions, to league teams, and other leagues and updates league website accordingly
- Assist with the drafting and maintaining the OJHL Operations Manual
- Manage all OJHL Playoff Schedule approvals
- Management of all Player and General Manager Declarations
- Coordination of OJHL Player Administration fees
- Works closely with OHA to manage and direct the player carding process via the HCR and reports any areas of concern promptly to Commissioner.
- Directs maintenance and distribution of accurate player listings (additions and deletions) in a timely fashion and reports any areas of concern promptly to Commissioner.
- Ensure that the player profiles as presented in the roster portion of OJHL website system are full and complete.
- Monitors and supports franchise participation in league website, player advancement and streaming video initiatives.
- Attends external engagements and other public functions outside normal working hours as reasonably required.
- Communicates in a constructive, professional, respectful, and efficient way with league Coaches, General Managers and Franchise Officers as required.

Essential Skills:

- Post Secondary Education in Business Administration or Sports Administration is an asset
- Excellent Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel skills.
- Well organized, able to handle several tasks at the same time
- Extremely strong attention to detail and willingness to complete assignments/projects using very high standards
- Strong hockey knowledge, and understanding of the OJHL and CJHL, teams and structure
- Flexible working hours- may need to be made available on evenings and weekends
- Excellent telephone and communication skills
- Able to establish priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
